Celebrities, like you or I, are simply humans at the end of the day. That means that they too are subject to FOMO. And over the years, especially as Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have surged, FOMO has influenced celebrities to make a foray into this nascent industry.
Most recently, Landon Cassill, a professional NASCAR driver, recently came out as a crypto lover, sitting down with Anthony Pompliano, a partner at cryptocurrency and blockchain fund operator Morgan Creek Digital, to talk about his experience as a driver and how he has gotten involved in this industry.
While Pompliano didn’t push Cassill about his cryptocurrency ethos, the NASCAR driver, purportedly valued at over $5 million, said that he thinks that Bitcoin is a medium for financial sovereignty.
Cassill is the latest celebrity to have delved down the crypto rabbit hole.
As reported by Ethereum World News previously, Tony Hawk — yes, the skateboarding legend Tony Hawk — was just revealed to be a guest speaker on the lineup of Bitcoin2020, a Bitcoin-centric industry event set to be held in San Francisco at the end of March. It wasn’t made clear what Hawk, billed as a “skateboarding legend, entrepreneur, and philanthropist,” will talk about it, but he has shown he is a fan of the leading cryptocurrency.
Responding to a chart that accentuated the parabolic nature of Bitcoin’s chart, which then resembled a skate ramp, Hawk quipped that he’s been “riding” BTC for “six years”, adding that he has yet to sell his coins.
Also, Bruce Willis, the famous American actor best known for his roles in “Die Hard” and “Unbreakable,” was recently exposed to Bitcoin by Bobby Lee, a board member of the BTC Foundation and the brother of Litecoin’s Charlie Lee. Lee claims to have shilled Willis the cryptocurrency on a flight from Los Angeles to Shanghai.

The conversation purportedly ended in Lee, who did not say whether Willis was engrossed in the conversation or not, gifting two of his hardware wallets with 0.01 BTC to Willis as early Christmas presents.
