However, US customers will still be able to withdraw their <a href=\"https:\/\/en.ethereumworldnews.com\/category\/news\/latest-ripple-xrp-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">XRP<\/a> after the date.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official announcement, Bitstamp customers from other jurisdictions will not be affected.\u00a0The exact statement by the exchange was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitstamp.net\/article\/xrp-trading-and-deposits-be-halted-us-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">as follows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In light of the recent\u00a0SEC filing against Ripple Labs Inc., which alleges that XRP is a security,\u00a0<b>we are going to halt all trading and deposits of XRP for our US customers on 8 January 2021 at 9 PM UTC<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>We will closely follow the unfolding situation and continue to adapt accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Our US customers will still be able to withdraw XRP from Bitstamp.\u00a0<b>Customers from other countries are not affected<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your continued support in this matter. We will post updates here and on\u00a0Twitter\u00a0as more information becomes available.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>XRP takes Another Nosedive to the $0.30 Support Area<\/h2>\n<p>News of Bitstamp halting deposits and trading for its US customers in January has caused the value of XRP to take another brief nosedive. Prior to the announcement, XRP was attempting to break <a href=\"https:\/\/en.ethereumworldnews.com\/average-xrp-investor-lost-6k-due-to-the-dip-caused-by-the-sec-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the $0.38 resistance level<\/a>. As soon as the announcement was made by Bitstamp, XRP dropped to $0.278 &#8211; a 27% drop &#8211; before bouncing back to the $0.30 support area.<\/p>\n<h2>Other Major Crypto Exchanges Will Follow<\/h2>\n<p>As the old saying goes, where there is smoke, there is fire.
