On July 14, OpenSea&#8217;s co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer took to Twitter to announce that they are laying off 20% of their staff citing the current &#8220;crypto winter crisis.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OpenSea All Set To Lay Off 20% Of Its Team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OpenSea has joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jonathanponciano\/2022\/07\/14\/crypto-winter-watch-all-the-big-layoffs-record-withdrawals-and-bankruptcies-sparked-by-the-2-trillion-crash\/?sh=7fbbaf1620f5\" rel=\"noopener\">growing<\/a> bandwagon of firms who have cited crypto winter as one of the reasons to lay their staff off.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today is a hard day for OpenSea, as we\u2019re letting go of ~20% of our team. They have supported our users, championed our mission, and worked intensely to build the foundations of the NFT space&#8230;For those leaving us, we&#8217;ll be providing generous severance and healthcare coverage into 2023, and equity vesting for those who haven&#8217;t hit their cliff.
