{"id":59362,"date":"2020-01-09T21:20:16","date_gmt":"2020-01-09T19:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ethereumworldnews.com\/?p=59362"},"modified":"2020-01-09T21:20:16","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T19:20:16","slug":"pewdiepie-tron-bittorrent-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ethereumworldnews.com\/pewdiepie-tron-bittorrent-video\/","title":{"rendered":"PewDiePie Talks &#8220;Tron&#8221; and &#8220;BitTorrent&#8221; in Latest Youtube Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In April of 2019, it was revealed that Felix Kjellberg, a Swedish Youtuber that is best known as \u201cPewDiePie,\u201d revealed that he partnered with DLive, a streaming platform similar to Twitch, itself owned by Amazon:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDLive is built on the modern blockchain, providing a disruptive solution for the industry\u2026 DLive\u2019s mission to empower creators\u2026 through their revolutionary reward system.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While PewDiePie didn&#8217;t mention cryptocurrency or blockchain much during this announcement video, he continued to dabble in the industry when he did another ad spot for DLive today, this time announcing the platform&#8217;s relationship with BitTorrent and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.ethereumworldnews.com\/?s=Tron\">Tron<\/a> (TRX).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>PewDiePie Mentions Tron, BitTorrent in Latest Video<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HcOw8mxVdvQ&amp;t=64s\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">In the video<\/a> Kjellberg published on January 9th, the content creator took some time to announce a giveaway of his gaming chair, claiming that this giveaway was being made to celebrate DLive&#8217;s collaboration with BitTorrent, which itself is effectively owned by Tron:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>To celebrate DLive joining BitTorrent Family, we&#8217;re giving away a PewDiePie Chair&#8230; But Felix, who&#8217;s BitTorrent? Well, BitTorrent is the biggest peer-to-peer, file-sharing network in the world, powered by Tron blockchain, which means they have over 100 million users.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe title=\"Designs that will make you MAD! #60 [REDDIT REVIEW]\" width=\"1120\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HcOw8mxVdvQ?start=64&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This announcement comes shortly after it was revealed on December 30th that BitTorrent got DLive to &#8220;join its ecosystem.&#8221; Tron founder Justin Sun noted that this collaboration is pertinent with Youtube&#8217;s<a href=\"https:\/\/en.ethereumworldnews.com\/merry-christmas-youtube-crypto-crackdown\/\"> seeming attack against crypto content creators.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The price of Tron is down 1.91% in the past 24 hours, which is a similar to the performances of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other leading crypto assets. It seems that this isn&#8217;t a news event that should or will be priced in by the cryptocurrency market and its traders.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Not First Crypto Foray<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This is not the first time that PewDiePie has dabbled in crypto, blockchain, and related technologies.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, the Youtuber made a video outlining now-infamous Bitcoin scam Bitconnect, which was effectively a Ponzi scheme that promised users that they would earn 1% on their &#8220;investment&#8221; each and every day. This video, published near the peak of the cryptocurrency bubble of 2018, went semi-viral, garnering over five million views with time.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Jz50eTT6y8g<\/p>\n<p>Around the same time, as the initial coin offering boom was still ongoing, PewDiePie took part in a promotional video for a cryptocurrency project, providing something known as \u201cSgamePro\u201d with one-minute of footage.
